What is an Initial Production Check?
An Initial Production Check is an on-site Product Inspection performed before your production begins, up until 20% has been completed. A preliminary inspection of all machinery and materials to be used in your production, an IPC is the first step in ensuring the quality of your product will be consistent throughout production.
WayInspection inspectors visit your supplier’s production site to conduct a physical inspection of the raw materials, components, and factory in China . During the pre-production inspection, we identify the availability and condition of the materials, review your manufacturer’s preparation for production, and check in-house quality control processes.
In addition, the Initial Production Check checklist includes preparation for future product inspection(s) by reviewing your approval samples and listing all tools available to perform product testing.
When to Use Initial Production Check?
An Initial Production Check is the next step after the identification and the evaluation of your vendor/factory. It allows you to identify quality risks before manufacturing commences and is an integral part of your risk assessment and quality assurance management. An initial production check verifies your supplier is able to start the production on schedule and all your products specifications and quality requirements are understood.
